When new patients join our community, one of the first questions we get is “Do you take X insurance?”
Quite often, medical insurance doesn’t cover hearing aids or hearing tests without reaching certain qualifications or deductibles. Insurance policies can be stressful to try and decipher, especially with so much fine print to sift through.
As a result, our clinic does not take insurance of any kind. Rather, we like to get to know our patients as people, not numbers—their struggles, their wins, their highs and lows. We go beyond just knowing their hearing aid prescription and get to know them as human beings.
This can be a little puzzling for people. We get it—but the conversations that we have with our patients, and the relationships that we build together on their hearing health journey, mean more to us than money in the back pocket.
The Patient Experience
Something that I’m passionate about as a healthcare provider is the experience that my patients have with each appointment.
When people come through our doors, my team and I want to ensure that their experience with us is painless, smooth, and streamlined. That means from getting checked in for their first appointment to leaving after another maintenance check-in for their hearing, I aim to make each patient feel not just like a person, but like family.
It’s the little things, like working around budget constraints, making sure someone’s hearing aid requests are filled, understanding when appointments need to be moved or canceled, or making sure that your child who’s tagging along is comfortable while you’re being seen to.
My patients are more than just patients—you’re people with lives that you’re looking to reclaim with the power of professional hearing care. That’s why, without worrying about insurance coverage or deductibles, I see people, not just payments.
