“Good morning, Visalia Hearing Center! This is Kim; how can I help you?”
Caller: “Do you take my insurance?”
The perpetual question! Let’s talk about it.
Have you ever wondered why it takes so long to get in to see your doctor? Why are they booked out for weeks or sometimes even months?
“Why was my appointment at 9:00 A.M., but I have been sitting here waiting, and it is now 10:30 A.M.?”
“Finally, my doctor came in to see me, but she only spent 10 minutes with me… I waited all morning for this wham-bam appointment?”
Did you know that likely the underlying factor to all of these thoughts is the same? Insurance.
It is unfortunately all too common for a doctor’s schedule to be packed with back-to-back appointments, leaving them running behind and playing catch-up throughout the day.
Mostly in the name of satisfying the “insurance racket.”
Often, I am asked, “Do you take my insurance? Are you in network with my insurance?” In the world of hearing care, this does not need to be a “make it or break it” issue.
But let’s think about this for a moment…
Did you know that most insurance does not provide a benefit for hearing aids? Medicare DOES NOT pay for hearing aids. Some private insurance may have a hearing aid benefit available and require the patient to do business at a predetermined facility. Wait, what? The insurance company is telling me they will pay for a fraction of my hearing aids, but I must go where they tell me to? Would you be happy having the insurance company force you to obtain your hearing care from someone who you did not choose yourself?
I know many of our patients have said “no” to that. Maybe they paid a little more out of pocket, but they are in control of who is providing their outcome. Their best outcome.
Rest assured, Dr. Finnegan does not stop until he has achieved your best outcome!
Dr. Finnegan by and large chooses not to play the insurance game. What does that mean for you? You are getting the best care possible. Unmatched attention to every detail for your best outcome. This commitment to exceptional care would not be possible if Visalia Hearing Center was heavily invested in the insurance game. Let there be no doubt, Dr. Finnegan will not allow the constraints of insurance to dictate his demonstration of excellent care! More time with you, less time with the bureaucracy. That is one of our promises, always. What promises has that insurance company made lately?
“But wait, Kim! My insurance will allow for ‘out of network’ billing. Will you look into this for me?”
“Of course we will!”
If an insurance carrier allows for “out of network” billing, Visalia Hearing Center will gladly research your individual situation and, when possible, submit the claim on your behalf.
Don’t let the thought of being “out of network” with your insurance hold you back from reaching your best outcome. What truly matters is you, your family, and living your BEST LIFE.
