Meet The Team
The Visalia Hearing Center backstory:
Tedd Shurson, MA, had owned and operated Shurson Hearing & Speech Center in Visalia for over 40 years. Tedd and Dr. Finnegan share the same vision of the independent private practitioner as the epitome of what hearing care can and should be. In February of 2022, when Tedd was ready to retire, he passed the reins to Dr. Finnegan and Visalia Hearing Center, Inc. was founded.
Dan Finnegan - Owner/Audiologist
Dr. Dan Finnegan, or Dr. Dan as most of his patients affectionately call him, was born in Modesto, CA and was raised in the small farming community of Hughson, CA. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in 2004 from UC Santa Barbara where he graduated cum laude, and his Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from the San Diego State/UC San Diego Joint Doctoral program in 2009. He completed his externship/residency year at Shohet Ear Associates, a prestigious private practice ENT office in Newport Beach, CA. Upon completion of his academic training, he joined as a staff Audiologist at Tustin Hearing Center in Tustin, CA.
During his eleven-year tenure at Tustin Hearing Center, Dr. Finnegan was recognized for his commitment to excellence in Audiology and his exceptional patient care. He received three Provider of Distinction Awards and was promoted twice–first in 2014 to Senior Audiologist and then in 2020 to Director of Audiology. It was also during his time at Tustin Hearing Center that he met the love of his life, Cassandra. They were married in 2013 and have three children together, two daughters and a son. In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Finnegan bleeds the Green & Gold of the Oakland Athletics, enjoys playing cornhole, doing BeachBody on Demand and grilling a nice steak, preferably Tri-Tip.
The question Dr. Finnegan gets asked often is “why did you move from Orange County, CA to Tulare County, CA?” In late 2019, through a series of mergers and acquisitions, Tustin Hearing Center fell under the ownership of a multinational hearing aid retail sales corporation. An entirely different philosophy of care was mandated. This corporate mandate was the exact opposite of what Dr. Finnegan believes leads to successful patient outcomes. When the opportunity to return to the Central Valley presented itself, Dan and Cassandra, who is from Porterville, CA, pounced.
Now, Dr. Finnegan is thrilled to be back in a locally owned and independent private practice where the emphasis can truly be on providing excellence in Audiology and exceptional patient care. His goal is to continue what Shurson Hearing & Speech Center started and modernize it for the 21st Century.

Yolanda Galvan
Meet Yolanda Galvan. If you’ve recently visited or called the Visalia Hearing Center, it was likely her friendly smile and voice that greeted you. Yolanda is our patient coordinator and is primarily responsible for scheduling appointments, assisting with walk-ins, and ensuring patient’s checking-in and checking-out process runs smoothly.
Though she is the newest addition to our team, she is not new to patient care as she has performed these duties in previous employments. Ms. Galvan takes great care and pride in supporting patient needs and her biggest reward is hearing the many stories of improved lives by the services provided by Visalia Hearing Center.
Ms. Galvan is especially proud to give back to the community of Visalia and Tulare County at large, where she has lived her whole life, and has raised her family. In her free time, Yolanda enjoys traveling.
