Three Common Hearing Aid Repair Issues
Wax Buildup
When earwax gets built up on the surface of your hearing aids, it eventually finds its way inside your device to the delicate electronic components, causing them to malfunction.
Excessive Moisture
Your ears are a rather warm and moist environment, and our climate has a tendency to add to that moisture. Left alone, excessive moisture inside your hearing aids can lead to shorting or a faulty connection due to corrosion.
Broken Components
If your hearing aids get dropped and/or stepped on, the components inside may break or wires may pull loose. They may also deteriorate over time due to daily wear or faulty components.
5 Tips to Prevent Hearing Aid Malfunctions
Tip #1
You can avoid most repair issues by developing a faithful habit of cleaning your aids daily over your bed or a towel to prevent damage if you drop them.
Tip #2
Proper cleaning involves cleaning away earwax and other debris that can get inside your device.
Tip #3
If you clean them before bed, they should have plenty of time to dry before use.
Tip #4
While you are cleaning, you can inspect them for damage—and if you find any issues, you can get the aids to us for repair before the damage begins to cause problems.
Tip #5
Be sure to keep up with scheduled maintenance and deep cleaning every six months.

Manufacturer Repair

Loaner Hearing Aids
This is not actually true. I don’t have any reconditioned hearing aids on hand. All of my loaners are DEMO or Trial hearing aids that are factory fresh from the manufacturer. I can send you a photo if you’d like. Additionally, loaner hearing aids are only available to patients who have an active service plan. If the hearing aids are out of warranty and need a factory repair, patients can rent hearing aid(s) while there’s are in the shop. I think we should updated the loaner section then add a similar section about rental hearing aids.
